For companies
Work with us
We cover a small number of junior resource companies and explain them, properly, to the retail investors who are trying to understand them.
Who is on the other side of it
Private investors who hold junior resource companies, or are thinking about it, and who read the announcements. They are not institutions with a research budget. They are people working out what a 12 metre intercept at 1.4 grammes per tonne means for a company with eighteen months of cash.
That audience is not served well. Most of what is written about the junior end of the market is either a broker note they cannot get hold of or promotion dressed as analysis. When a company is explained to them clearly, they tend to stay interested for longer than one announcement.
We are selective, and it is the point
There are eight companies on this site. Not because we could not write about more, but because the list is the product. A reader who knows we turn work down has a reason to read what we publish, and that is worth more to the companies on the list than volume would be.
A company tends to be a fit when:
- The numbers are published and checkable. Resource statements, drill results, the funding position. We work from what is on the record.
- Someone will answer questions on it. A geologist or a chief executive who will talk about what the drilling did not find is worth more to us than a polished deck.
- The story survives plain English. If it only sounds good in jargon, our readers will notice, and so will we.
We say no more often than we say yes, usually because a project is too early to explain honestly or too little has been published to work from. Being turned down is not a view on the company's prospects, and it is not permanent.
How companies end up on the site
A written review
A researched piece on the company, its projects and what has to happen next, published as a document with a landing page of its own. There are eight of them, alongside six guidance pieces on how the sector works.
A conversation on the podcast
Recorded with the people running the company, and edited for length rather than for comfort. Five episodes so far. Listeners hear how someone thinks, which a document cannot show them.
A place in the directory
Projects, jurisdictions, commodities and what the company has said it expects to deliver next, each with the source and the date we last checked it. It is the part readers come back to, and it is kept current whether or not anything else is published.
What we will not do
No buy or sell ratings, no price targets, no rankings by investment merit. We publish none of those for anyone, so nobody can buy one.
We will not agree a conclusion in advance, and copy approval does not extend to our editorial judgement. Factual corrections, always: tell us a number is wrong and we will check it and fix it, and say that we did.
If a company pays for anything that appears on this site, the page it appears on says so plainly. That rule is what makes the rest of the site worth reading, which is ultimately what a company is coming here for.
Tell us about the company
The ticker, where the ground is, and what you think a reader would most want explained. If there is a document or a deck, say so and we will ask for it.
